چکیده
Introduction: Psoriasis is an immune system-mediated inflammatory disorder characterized by skin inflammation, epidermal hyperplasia, and other comorbidities. Based on medical data from H. Adam Malik hospital in 2011, the proportion of psoriasis vulgaris incidence was 0.81%. It important to assess severity disease. The most frequently used measuring instrument Area Severity Index (PASI) score. Elevated serum IgE levels have been reported some cases psoriasis. relationship between controversial. study aimed determine PASI scores vulgaris.Method: An observational analytic with a cross-sectional approach 37 subjects at Haji General Hospital Medan. Patients who meet criteria are recorded basic personal identity, history taking, physical examination, dermatological examination. Vitamin C and Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substances (TBARS) in Psoriasis Vulgaris Related to Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI)
Oxidative stress is caused by an imbalance between the production of pro-oxidants and the capacity of a biological system of rapid detoxification of free radicals. In this paper the level of pro-oxidants and antioxidants was quantified in patients with psoriasis vulgaris. The results of this study show that the level of oxygen reactive species dramatically increases and the physiologic antioxid...
متن کاملSeverity of Psoriasis Differs Between Men and Women: A Study of the Clinical Outcome Measure Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) in 5438 Swedish Register Patients
BACKGROUND Psoriasis is a common skin disease and moderate to severe psoriasis is associated with a dose-dependent risk for metabolic and cardiovascular morbidity. It has previously been speculated that women have less severe psoriasis, as men are overrepresented in psoriasis registers and consume more care. OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to investigate, for the first time, the sex...
متن کاملThe Association between Psoriasis Area and Severity Index and Cardiovascular Risk Factor in Korean Psoriasis Patients
BACKGROUND Psoriasis is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular morbidities, especially in severe cases. Severity of the disease has been known to be associated with higher prevalence of these risk factors. However, in the absence of robust measurements, studies to date relied mostly on treatment spectrum as a proxy for the severity. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the relationship between pso...
متن کاملSerum Prolactin Levels in Psoriasis Vulgaris
Background. Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease affecting approximately 1-3% of Caucasians. Prolactin has proliferative effects on human keratinocytes, a dominant feature of psoriasis, and it is thought that this hormone may play a role in the pathogenesis of the disease. This study was conducted to confirm or refute these findings in order to better understand the disease pathogen...
متن کاملThe correlation between the psoriasis area severity index and ischemia-modified albumin, mean platelet volume levels in patients with psoriasis
INTRODUCTION Ischemia-modified albumin (IMA), a novel ischemia marker, and mean platelet volume (MPV), a determinant of platelet activation, have been reported as elevated markers in cardiovascular risk factors such as atherosclerosis, metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension, and dyslipidemia. As psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease having comorbidities, IMA and MPV can ...
